Abstract
The Juno mission is an example of excellence in international collaboration between NASA
and ASI (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana). Previous missions between NASA and ASI have built a
solid relationship that resulted in ASI providing the JIRAM (Jovian InfraRed Auroral
Mapper), and the Ka-band translator as part of the Juno payload. In addition, ASI also
provides the SRU to the Juno spacecraft (LMSS). The paper describes more in depth the
challenges, strategies, and relationship between the two space agencies in order to
achieve a successful delivery of international payloads into a spacecraft built by
Lockheed Martin (LMSS) and in a mission managed by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
