Space Literacy Foundation's Mission
Jay Wittner
Executive Director, Space Literacy Foundation
Abstract
The mission of the Space Literacy Foundation (SLF) is to help the various space related
organizations achieve their goals by: providing them with next-generation internet
marketing and communications tools, helping them with development of their marketing and
educational messages, and building synergistic relationships between various types of
organizations.
The organizations will receive access to a high end suite of internet based video
marketing and communication tools that will enable them to communicate with their members
and the public in an entirely new way. These tools will include: video email, campaign
video email, next-generation tools to embed video into their websites, screen share
technology to facilitate collaboration, and their own TV show on the internet (including
power point slides and two way text chat).
In addition to several forms of tech support, the entities will have access to a video
library filled with content to assist them. There will be videos to help them learn how to
operate the various internet tools. There will be a series of videos dedicated to each
entity type (planetarium, aerospace engineering program, etc.) showing them how the tools
can be used in support of their specific missions.
There will be videos portraying an array of educational and marketing messages from which
they can pick. In addition there will be interactive internet TV shows every week where
they can ask questions in real time. These internet TV shows will include live interviews
and video reviews of experts and books relevant to planetariums, science museums, and
other space organizations.
